A Message to the Class of 2026: Keep Courage in Your Heart

Dear Seniors, When most of you were just coming into this world, I was just stepping out into it. I had a plan; one I believed was rock solid. I was impatient, eager, and couldn't wait to start that next chapter of my life. Unfortunately, life doesn’t always follow the scripts we write for ourselves. I had to pivot hard, and I had to put my dreams on a shelf for a while.

While others were living the 'college life' and making new friends, I was working overtime and pulling double shifts just to stay afloat. There were moments when I truly believed I would never get to be the person I wanted to be. I almost gave up.

It took a few years, but I finally reached a point where I could start taking a few classes here and there. I was still working doubles, eventually squeezing my entire workweek into three grueling days so I could be a student for the rest of the time. I was exhausted. I remember wanting to quit, but I also wanted to prove that I could make it.
