County sales tax income down from last year

The Oklahoma Tax Commission recently released city sales tax collection figures that primarily represents local tax receipts from February business. The monies they reported this period represent sales from March 16 to 31 and estimated sales from April 1 to 15.

Statewide, the disbursement of $214,325,404 sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected an increase of $7,585,644 from the $206,739,760 distributed to the cities and towns in May last year. The use tax disbursement to cities and town was $44,694,045 according to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.

In county returns, the counties shared in a $37,991,080 sales tax disbursement and a $9,810,963 use tax disbursement.
