In the wake of the tragic loss of 18-year-old Bailee Deems, a grassroots movement is rapidly growing to address the safety of the intersection at Highway 69 and Fred's Fish Camp Road.
A Change.org petition, titled 'Install a stop light at Choctaw Casino/Fred's Fishcamp exit,' has already garnered more than 1,600 signatures as residents call for immediate infrastructure changes.
The petition, started by a lifelong resident of the area, highlights a long history of accidents at the intersection, which serves as a major exit for both the Choctaw Casino and Fred’s Fish Camp.
