One week after an EF-2 tornado tore through Caney, damaging the school and leaving scars throughout the community, the Caney Lady Cougars gave their town something to celebrate again.

On May 6 at FireLake Ball Fields, Caney completed its historic three-peat with a 24-19 victory over Red Oak Lady Eagles in the Class A Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association Slow-Pitch State Championship.

For head coach Jackie Dollarhide, the accomplishment was the culmination of years of work from a veteran group that learned how to handle expectations.
