A manhunt on Saturday evening ended with a suspect evading capture, but local authorities have positively identified the man and are seeking public assistance in locating him.
According to a statement issued by the Stringtown Police Department, the incident began around 6:22 p.m. on June 13, 2026, when the Atoka County Sheriff's Office received a report of a stolen U-Haul vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 69.
Stringtown police officers located the vehicle parked at the Choctaw Travel Plaza. Before officers could make contact, the driver exited the U-Haul and entered the travel plaza, leaving two juveniles, ages 13 and 14, inside the vehicle.
