A traffic stop in Atoka late Wednesday evening resulted in the arrest of a motorcyclist after a deputy discovered a suspended license and suspected narcotics.
According to a report by Atoka County Sheriff's Deputy Corwin Ridgway, the incident occurred at approximately 10:07 p.m. on June 17, 2026. Deputy Ridgway was patrolling northbound on Highway 69/75 when he observed a dark-colored motorcycle turn eastbound onto 4th Street without using a turn signal or activating a brake light. A traffic stop was initiated at the intersection.
The driver, identified as James Patterson, reportedly told the deputy that his turn signals were not working. When asked for identification, Patterson stated that his driver's license was currently suspended.
