A single-vehicle accident on Voca Road early Monday morning led to the arrest of a driver for suspicion of driving under the influence.
According to a report by Atoka County Sheriff’s Deputy Corey Fowlkes, emergency personnel responded to the crash in Caney at approximately 4:45 a.m. on June 15, 2026. Upon arrival, Fowlkes located a white Ford Taurus with California license plates nosedown in a ditch on the south side of the roadway.
The driver, identified as Sara Gerard, told authorities she was traveling home to her children when she attempted to make a U-turn and slid off the road.
