Sorry to miss the news for the last few weeks, lightning hit my computer router. I would complain more but lightning acts as a natural fertilizer for grass, which benefits hay production through atmospheric nitrogen fixation. So, considering the current cost of fertilizer, I will not complain about free fertilizer sent from above.
Area Oklahoma Blood Drives are in progress because of the ongoing regional blood shortage. However, there are none presently in Atoka County. Durant has several scheduled. June 29th at the Donald W. Reynolds Library (1515 W. Main St.) from 11:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Then June 30 at First Texoma National Bank (220 W. Main) from 9:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Also, on July 30 the Choctaw Casino and Resort Blood Drive will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
