Here it is, almost a week before we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of our great nation! If you have noticed, we are hosting the world's cup in soccer and the America's team has been doing well. It has been interesting to see all the different citizens from the many different countries visiting our nation, its cities, and their awe at how we live, how we welcome them, and just how big and great our nation is.
It has been inspiring to watch the different reactions of the world's people as they are exposed to a totally unique way of life from what they are used to and the patriotism we have for our country and the sacrifices made by those in uniform. I just wish some of our own people would wake up and see what a blessing we have and appreciate the freedoms we enjoy.
This coming Saturday, July 4th, we will be celebrating the holiday by having our very own parade in our county seat and city of Atoka. This is one in which there is no entry fee, just sign in and participate and let everyone know that you are there to be a part of something great, a once in a lifetime event in which you can let everyone in the future know that you were there and that you a part of history.
