The Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission approved several immediate rule changes this week affecting hunters and anglers statewide, including new limits for local waters.
In response to constituent concerns regarding local fish populations, a new daily limit of 20 crappie is now in effect for both Atoka Lake and Lake Eufaula.
Conversely, to address stunted populations where fish rarely exceed 5 to 6 inches, all daily crappie limits have been entirely eliminated at Lakes Dahlgren, Boomer, Holdenville, Purcell, Shell, and Wewoka, as well as all Close to Home Fishing waters.
