Season Begins
As late summer approaches, wildlife officials are advising Oklahoma residents to remain vigilant outdoors as copperhead snakes enter their second annual mating season.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, the species undergoes two distinct breeding periods each year: one in early spring and a second extending from late August into October. During these months, the snakes become more mobile as they move throughout their habitats across central and eastern Oklahoma.
