Mimi's Sweet Shoppe & Mercantile

Michelle Workman Deaton, owner of Mimi's Sweet Shoppe & Mercantile, stands alongside Harmony School Superintendent Brian Walker, helper Kynsi Loyd, and shop pet Rosie with 60 backpacks donated through a partnership with Amazon Hub. Workman Deaton chose Harmony School to receive the countywide contribution, which will supply students in need and support families moving into the area mid-year. Expressing his appreciation for the local support, Walker noted the importance of understanding student needs at home, sharing, 'I tell my teachers to get on that bus, see where these kids get off. You never know what these kids are going through.'
