Atoka Police officers are investigating a high-value theft after a local storage unit was found cleaned out earlier this month.
According to police records, victim Robert Effinger reported the break-in at the Atoka Police Department on the morning of July 17. Effinger told officers he arrived at his storage unit, located on S. Clarice St., around 6:30 AM to find the lock missing and grinder marks left near the latch. Upon opening the door, he discovered that the unit had been completely emptied.
Effinger noted that he had last checked on the unit approximately two months prior and did not know anyone in the area who might be responsible.
