A local man was taken into custody on July 20 after allegedly violating a protective order, assaulting a resident, and bringing contraband into the Atoka County Jail.
According to police reports, Atoka Police Officer Christian Shomo responded to a report of an active physical domestic disturbance at a residence on East A Street around 5:38 p.m. Dispatch advised that an occupant of the home possessed an active protective order through the Choctaw Nation against the suspect, Jamy Ragle. Dispatch also noted that Ragle was throwing objects, had spit in the victim's face, and was reported to have a pocket knife.
Upon arrival, officers encountered Ragle at the front doorway. He briefly retreated back inside and slammed the door, prompting officers to order him out of the home. Ragle complied shortly after and was taken into custody without further incident by Officer Shomo, with assistance from Officer Loudermilk, Lt. Taylor, and Sgt. Poe.
