Lane/Crystal News

'One must be careful of books, and what is inside them, for words have the power to change us.' This quote by author Cassandra Clare has left an enduring impact on my mind. It is something that through experience I have always believed.

My Daddy always told me that a single word or a single act of kindness could reshape the reality of each of his students and that a book, no matter its length, filled with solid, interrelated words is bound to alter our perception and transport us to other worlds and new possibilities. Therefore, be careful what you put into your mind, may changes always be for the better.

Everyone be in prayer for the family of a born and raised in Lane boy, Dusty Nichols, who died at the age of 56. I taught Dusty in first grade and was entertained daily by his latest adventures. He loved to tell what he had been up to the day before and always chuckled about getting into trouble…you knew it would not be the last time either.
