Accusations Lead to Cooking Pot Assault

A dispute over missing property escalated into a physical assault with a cooking pot late last month on South Dunbar Drive.

Atoka Police Officer Triston Marlow and Master Patrol Officer Griffith responded to a report of a physical altercation at a residence in the 1200 block of South Dunbar Drive around 9:15 p.m. on July 22.

According to police reports, Shannon Davis confronted his niece, accusing her of taking a firearm from his home. Witnesses and the victim reported that Davis yelled at and repeatedly thrust a lit cigarette into her face. The confrontation turned physical when Davis went into the kitchen, grabbed a small cooking pot, and struck her multiple times on the head and arm.
