Atoka County Crews Deploy to Assist in 200-Acre Bryan County Wildfire

Local firefighters and emergency management personnel were dispatched to Bryan County on Friday afternoon to help battle a fast-moving grass fire that scorched approximately 200 acres.

Members from the Atoka, Daisy, Crystal, and Harmony Fire Departments deployed to the scene alongside teams from both the City of Atoka Emergency Management and Atoka County Emergency Management.

The blaze broke out in an area north of Achille, situated between Allison Road and Caney Creek Road just west of Highway 78. Crews from Atoka County joined responding departments from Bryan, Marshall, and Choctaw counties to establish containment lines.
