Preliminary Hearing Set for Man Accused in Fatal Stabbing of Wife

A Stillwater man faces a first-degree murder charge following the fatal stabbing of his wife early Sunday morning, August 9.

According to police and court records, 43-year-old Kyle Wayne Rector allegedly attacked his wife, Kaylene Jo Williams, with a pocketknife while she was driving near South Perkins Road around 1:50 a.m. Williams managed to stop the vehicle and exit before collapsing from multiple knife wounds.

A passing motorist stopped to assist and told officers that Rector admitted to killing his wife at the scene. Williams leaves behind six children and one grandchild.
