County Water Districts Partner to Restore Emergency Supply

Atoka County Rural Water District #3 (Caney) has officially interconnected with Atoka County Rural Water District #4 to restore service following a well failure that left RWD #3 customers facing severe supply disruptions.

The emergency connection was completed at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, following temporary approval from the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ), the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (ORWB), and the RWD #4 Board of Directors. The tie-in serves as a temporary 90-day emergency water source while RWD #3 operators wait on incoming supplies to repair the damaged well.

Despite the connection, low water pressures are expected to persist across the system, and RWD #3 customers are instructed to continue conserving water. Residents who noticed unusually high usage on their previous month's bill are advised to check their private lines for leaks.
