Caney Public Schools and law enforcement are addressing reports of alleged hazing, bullying, and student misconduct following a recent extracurricular incident at the Soper baseball field in Choctaw County on August 13.
In a letter issued to parents and the school community, Superintendent Lori Delay stated that school officials were made aware of the allegations and immediately began looking into the matter alongside law enforcement. District administration has also directly contacted the parents of the students involved.
'Student privacy laws limit the information we can share about this situation; however, we believe it is important to communicate as openly as possible when concerns arise that may impact our school community,' Delay said in the statement. 'There is nothing more important to our school team than providing a safe and welcoming environment for every student.'
