I am very pleased to share that City Manager Danny Delay’s recent surgery went exceptionally well. Given the circumstances, both the procedure and his prognosis are as positive as anyone could have hoped for. Danny is continuing his recovery at home, and we all remain prayerful and optimistic for his full healing and a swift return.
Last week marked my first full week in the official role, and it was certainly a challenging one. There is still much for me to learn about various functions within the City of Atoka, but the work is genuinely interesting, and I look forward to growing into the position each day. I also had the opportunity to meet with several citizens and address a number of concerns, many of which, I’m hopeful, have been resolved.
On August 4th, an unfortunate incident involving Plant Supervisor Jacob Boston occurred. While attempting to locate a blockage in the discharge line between the Water Plant and the Wastewater Plant, Boston was driving through the fields and unimproved land that separate the two sites. The distance between the facilities is approximately 1.4 miles, with about 15 manholes located along the discharge line.
