The Southern Oklahoma Library System (SOLS) is excited to announce the receipt of a Community Grant from the Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation. This grant will directly benefit SOLS libraries, empowering us to enrich lives and strengthen communities throughout Atoka and Johnston Counties.
With this support, SOLS will launch and expand a variety of community-driven programs and projects. Highlights include innovative Legos & Literature sessions, inspiring author visits at local schools, engaging community lobby stops that bring library resources directly to our neighbors, and prizes for summer and winter reading challenges. These initiatives are just a few examples of how the grant will help us foster lifelong learning, creativity, and connection across our region.
“We are so pleased to have received this grant,” says Executive Director Gail Oehler. “Thanks to this support, we’re able to offer exciting, hands-on programs like Legos & Literature and author visits to schools for students and the community to experience. The grant also enables us to connect with more community members and learning opportunities for our patrons in Atoka and Johnston County libraries. We look forward to seeing the positive impact across all ages” For more information on the Southern Oklahoma Library System, contact one of the Southern Oklahoma Library System’s branch libraries
