Intoxicated Man Facing Charges After Resisting Atoka Officers

An Atoka man is facing misdemeanor charges following a Sept. 1 response to a reported domestic disturbance on North Kentucky Street, according to reports from the Atoka Police Department.

Sergeant Michael Brewer and Master Patrol Officer Peydon Griffith responded to a residence near North Kentucky Street around 8:50 p.m. after receiving a call regarding an active disturbance. Officers made contact with a resident in the driveway, who reported that her boyfriend had been drinking and damaging items inside the home.

While officers were conducting their initial interview, an individual identified as Nicholas Cook stepped out onto the front porch. Officers noted that Cook appeared angry and was holding an object initially thought to be a screwdriver, which Cook stated was an electronic vapor device before tossing it onto a table.
