An Atoka County man is facing multiple criminal charges after an Aug. 27 incident along East Highway 3 led to a burglary report and his subsequent arrest on outstanding warrants.

According to reports from the Atoka County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Ethan Fomby responded to a home near East Highway 3 at approximately 3:40 p.m. regarding a break-in in progress. A resident at the location reported that an individual, identified as John Bishop, walked into the trailer uninvited and took items before leaving.

A short time later, Captain Mark Gipson located a suspect matching the provided physical description at the nearby Centerpoint Store. Upon detaining Bishop, officers confirmed he had active arrest warrants out of Johnston and Bryan counties.
