Everyone at Lane and Crystal has been waiting for Fall and cooler temperatures to arrive. Fall does arrive this week, and the cold front has brought a drop in temperature to the 90s…still hot. My old cat Charlie says be thankful for small miracles.
Astronomical autumn begins at the September equinox on Wednesday, September 23 and ends at the December solstice Monday, December 21 when winter begins. These dates are exact astronomical instants, but, get this, local calendar dates can differ by time zones. For instance, in our Central Time Zone fall begins on September 23, but in the Eastern Time, the equinox begins Tuesday, September 22.
Charlie wants to remind everyone that September is Happy Cat Month in the U.S. He says to keep your cats happy be sure to have them vaccinated. Every cat should receive core vaccines (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, panleukopenia), rabies, and FeLV for all kittens under 1 year.
