Hello Atoka! My printer was down last week so I could not submit anything, and I regret this as it was the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attack on America. I was inspired and hope that I can reflect at this time and express my thoughts of last week. I have watched some interviews with people who, like me, experienced the events of that day, time, and changes that came from the evil of that day.
I was working for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, the Howard McLeod Correctional Center, and was walking down the housing corridors when the coverage was broadcast on the televisions the inmates were watching at the time. We all watched in horror as cameras caught the aftermath of the first plane and we saw the second plane crash into the second tower. I knew immediately that the world was changing but could never imagine just how our world would be turned upside down and completely around.
Knowing what would surely come about, I immediately called Renee' [she was working as an EMT for Atoka] and told her to get the vehicles, fill them up and to also fill up the five-gallon cans with gasoline as I was apprehensive as to how supply lines would be disrupted. I then explained what had happened in New York and that she needs to be prepared, to stay off the roads if possible, and get whatever she needed because supply lines could be compromised.
