Facing a formidable Beggs squad on the road, the Atoka Wampus Cats fought through early adversity and a tough string of mid-game injuries before falling 60-13 to the Golden Demons on Friday night.
Despite the setback, Atoka showed continuous heart on both sides of the ball. The Wampus Cat defense delivered early highlights, backed by a hard-nosed tackle for loss from Chris Finley (#54) and a clutch first-quarter interception by Case Horton on a tipped pass near the Beggs 35-yard line.
