The Atoka Wampus Cats showed tremendous grit on the road Friday night, putting together a fierce second-half comeback to tie the game before the Stroud Tigers pulled away late for a 3614 district victory.
Stroud grabbed early momentum in the opening quarter, jumping out to a 14-0 lead behind the explosive outside running of Aiden Collins. Undeterred, Atoka’s offense settled into a groove, mixing hard-nosed runs from Konner Ritchie and Gage Crenshaw with effective short passes from quarterback Ryan Barton to Donte Harrison.
