The Southern Oklahoma Development Association (SODA) Area Agency on Aging has released updates regarding upcoming Medicare enrollment counseling events, the annual family caregiver conference, and regional senior nutrition site operations across Southern Oklahoma.
With Medicare Open Enrollment running through Dec. 7, SODA announced it has three certified State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) counselors available to assist seniors with plan reviews. The agency is hosting several on-site counseling sessions across the region, including an event on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Irving Community Center in Ardmore. Additional enrollment events are scheduled for Nov. 4 at the Love County Nutrition Center and Nov. 9 at Ardmore Village.
SODA will also participate in the Oklahoma Family Caregivers Conference on Thursday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Colvert Ministry Center, located inside the First Methodist Church in Ardmore. The conference is free to family caregivers, though advance online registration is required through www.okcares.org. SODA’s Family Caregiver Specialist and Information and Assistance Coordinator will be on-site with informational resources.
