A local Halloween tradition is preparing to return to Atoka County this fall as 13-yearold Ruger Wingfield works to reopen the Gypsy Ranch Haunted Forest in memory of his late father.
Originally created and built by Phillip Wingfield, the haunted attraction closed following his passing in June 2024. Now, Ruger is leading efforts to bring the trail back to life for the 2026 season, carrying forward his father's passion for community entertainment under the banner, "His dream. His woods. His son."
To ensure the attraction can safely welcome visitors this October, organizers are seeking local community sponsors and business partners to help cover necessary safety preparations, repairs, and construction costs.
