An Atoka woman was arrested on April 16, 2025, on charges of domestic abuse following a reported assault on a young female relative.
According to an Atoka Police report, officers responded to a call regarding an assault at a West 3rd Street residence. The report states that Kimberly Perez allegedly assaulted a young female relative during a dispute that originated from a disagreement over a medical device.
The young woman reported that an argument with Perez escalated after Perez arrived at the residence. A related individual who witnessed the incident stated that Perez struck the young woman in the face.
The young woman indicated the argument was connected to text messages involving Perez's children and alluded to previous family tensions. She reported that Perez confronted her, leading to a physical altercation where Perez allegedly grabbed her arms before striking her face. Officers noted the young woman appeared upset and had sustained minor injuries.
Police located and interviewed Perez, who reportedly admitted to 'pushing' the young woman's face during the argument. Based on the physical contact, the familial relationship, and the young woman's desire to press charges, Perez was arrested for domestic abuse.
Following her arrest, Perez stated her intent to file charges regarding past incidents involving the young woman and was provided with the necessary forms.
