We are really proud of our up and coming young athletes who in the near future may beat the records of long time Olympic runners Flo-Jo Joyner, Sha’Carri Richardson and Allyson Felix.

This week Stringtown Tigers, and cousins, Adalee Isom and River Hoover led all runners as they ran away with capturing and placing in three and four events at the Atoka County Elementary Track Meet.

Adalee placed in four events capturing a first, second and two third place wins while River captured a first, second and third place win.

Adalee is the daughter of Chad and Amelia Isom and River is the daughter of Ricky and Chandy Hoover. Both girls are the nieces of proud aunt Donna Watson of Caney.

Ruthie Anderson enjoyed visiting with her longtime childhood friend Noel Powell this week. Noel and his wife Bonnie drove out to Ruthie's and they all enjoyed a nice visit.

Noel and Ruthie grew up and played together at Daisy during their childhood before Noel's family moved to Atoka. They all enjoyed sharing and talking about precious memories.

We want to remind everyone that our Seniors Ladies Sunday School Class & Friends Mother's Day Appreciation Luncheon will be next Tuesday, May 13th at 11:30 A.M. in the Fellowship Hall.

The Atoka-Coal County Seniors Luncheon will also be next Thursday, May 15' at 11:30 A.M. at Southside Baptist Church in Atoka. The luncheon will be a potluck.

Happy Birthday wishes go out to Jo-Ann Gabbart who celebrated her birthday this past Monday on Cinco de Mayo. However it's been reported her boys opted for an Italian birthday dinner.

Happy Birthday wishes also go out to Norene Isom who celebrated her 92nd birthday this Thursday, May 8th.

I will celebrate my birthday this weekend on Mother's Day, May 11th. We also wish Regina Holstine a Happy Birthday who will celebrate her birthday on May 10th.

Congratulations go out to Robby and Wendy Isom who celebrated their 29th anniversary this past weekend. They enjoyed a nice weekend visiting friends and family in Grand Prairie.

River Hoover took home three ribbons for placing in three running events in the Atoka County Elementary Track Meet. River is the daughter of Ricky and Chandy Hoover.

Adalee Isom led all runners as she placed in four events in the Atoka County Elementary Track Meet. Adalee is the daughter of Chad and Amelia Isom.
