Authorities are investigating the death of a man found in a yard in the Lane area on Sunday. May 4, 2025. Ihe Atoka County Sheriffs Office has identified the victim as Boyd Fortenberry.
At approximately 11:00 AM, Atoka County Dispatch received a call from a female resident near the 'Crow’s Nest,' a local bar in Lane, reporting that a man with a suspected gunshot wound was found on her property.
Deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, where the male subject, identified as Fortenberry, w!as pronounced deceased upon arrival.
The Atoka County Sheriffs Office has stated that a suspect is currently in custody in connection with the death. The name of the suspect has not been released. The investigation is ongoing, with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSB1) and the Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner assisting in the case.
