Atoka Police are investigating an alleged theft that occurred at the Atoka Walmart, located at 1983 S. Mississippi Ave., on Wednesday, May 8th.
According to a report by Patrolman Grady Blackwood, Atoka County Dispatch advised him of a male individual who had reportedly left the Walmart without paying for merchandise. The suspect was described as leaving in a black SUV of an unknown make or model, with an unknown direction of travel.
Patrolman Blackwood arrived at the Walmart and spoke with the Asset Protection (AP) manager in their office. The AP manager stated in a Walmart report that they were alerted to an unknown male running out of the garden center with a shopping cart full of items.
Upon reviewing closedcircuit television (CCTV) footage, the male was observed pushing a cart containing a Hart Weeder and a Trolley Jack out of the store. The footage reportedly showed the individual loading these items into a black SUV and then leaving the parking lot traveling northbound.
The AP manager notified the Atoka Police Department of the incident, and a report was filed. As of today's date, May 8th, 2025, the suspect remains unidentified. The Atoka Police Department is continuing to investigate this alleged theft.
