Stringtown News

Hello friends! Are you staying safe and dry? Hasn't the rain been nice? It does cause grass to grow a bunch. Makes for a lot of mowing though!

How about some holidays for you? June 19th: National Watch Day (the timepiece), National Garfield the Cat Day, and World Sauntering Day June 20th: American Eagle Day, National Ice Cream Soda Day, National Daylight Appreciation Day, and First Day of Summer (Summer Solstice) June 21st: National Selfie Day, National Peaches and Cream Day, and World Giraffe Day The mission group got home from Memphis safe and sound -- and a bit tired! Beth got the following info from Brandy Tisdale. 23 people from 5 different churches went to Memphis for 4 days. They left on Thursday morning and partnered with a local church to set up a block party in their neighborhood. The team canvassed the neighborhood, invited people to come to the party, fed hamburgers and hot dogs to the folks, worshipped, and opened Brock's Closet to meet the needs of the people. In this way, they were able to meet both physical and spiritual needs! There were several salvations from this event. One woman stopped just for prayer, and was encouraged to see so many Soldiers for God out sharing the love of Jesus!

The next day the group spent the morning preparing food for Calvary Men's Mission, and also preparing hygiene bags and food bags for Brock's Closet. That evening the team went to the men's shelter where they fed and ministered to 100 people. The new group members also got to tour the facility and hear about the history of the place. There were a couple of salvations that evening also.
