Dumpster Diving Leads to Trespassing, Drug Charges

An Atoka man was arrested Saturday afternoon after being found digging through a dumpster at a local business from which he had previously been banned. He now faces charges of trespassing and marijuana possession.

At approximately 3:25 PM on June 7, 2025, Officer Christian Shomo of the Atoka Police Department responded to a call from the owner of Daniels Express Lube. The owner reported a male individual, identified as Jeffrey Marshall, was inside their dumpster, rummaging through trash. The owner also informed police that Marshall had been previously trespassed from the property.

Upon Officer Shomo's arrival, he observed Marshall inside the dumpster and instructed him to exit. A check of police records by Atoka Police Sgt. James Riley confirmed that Marshall had been verbally trespassed from Daniels Express Lube on July 22, 2024.
