Once again, we appreciate our longtime friend, Orville 'Chick' Evans for his special box of goodies that he sends every so often all the way from Porterville, CA. It's always a wonderful surprise and very thoughtful.
This time the 'Goodie Box' contained special plums grown in California. California produces about 95% of the domestic fresh plums, with most coming from the San Joaquin Valley's Tulare and Fresno counties which are often referred to as the hub of plum production.
In addition to the special plums, we also received a variety of pistachios, almonds and freeze-dried mangos.
Happy Birthday wishes go out this week to Josie Magby and Wendy Wyrick.
Congratulations go out to Charles and Barbara Moreland who celebrated their 59th anniversary last week. The couple enjoyed a nice trip to Hot Springs, AR.
My mother and I enjoyed eating lunch after church Sunday with longtime friend Shirley Mixon and her friend Ann Hunt. We all enjoyed a nice lunch and visit.
We still have several of our community members that are dealing with medical issues and ask you to continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Benny Wyrick is still in the hospital at Atoka but doing much better and hopefully will be coming home soon.
Willa Mae Isom spent the night in the hospital last week but is home now feeling much better.
