An Atoka woman was arrested on July 5, 2025, after being found in a running vehicle, parked improperly, and exhibiting signs of impairment. She is currently being charged through the Atoka County District Court for actual physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence.
At approximately 9:14 PM, Patrolman Grady Blackwood of the Atoka Police Department was dispatched to the area of W. 7th Street regarding a possible intoxicated driver. Upon arrival, Officer Blackwood and another Atoka Police Officer located a white 2014 Ford Fusion parked on the incorrect side of the roadway, facing oncoming traffic.
Officers made contact with the driver, identified as Lori Michelle Chaffee of Atoka, who was in the driver's seat of the running vehicle. Chaffee, who was also the registered owner, was informed of the parking violation and the call received by dispatch.
