Fake $100 Bill Used in Attempted Purchase at Walmart

Atoka Police are investigating an incident involving a counterfeit $100 bill that was allegedly used in an attempted purchase at the local Walmart on July 4, 2025.

At approximately 4:00 PM, an officer responded to a request from Walmart Asset Protection employee Latricia Workman, who reported that a man and a woman had attempted to use a fake $100 bill at a selfcheckout kiosk.

According to Workman and security video footage, a female attempted to purchase a remote control and a pair of men's shoes totaling $32.86. The video showed the female attempting seven times to insert a rolled-up $100 bill into the kiosk, but the machine repeatedly rejected it. A Walmart employee intervened and informed the female that the bill was fake. The unidentified female claimed her boss had paid her with four hundred dollars, which included the counterfeit bill. The couple eventually paid for their items with legitimate currency and left the store.
