Driver's Confusion, Test Refusal Led to Impaired Driving Charges

An Atoka man was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence after being pulled over for speeding. The incident also led to a charge of transporting an open container of liquor.

At approximately 12:50 AM on July 13, 2025, Patrolman Grady Blackwood of the Atoka Police Department was on routine patrol near W 13th Street and S Greathouse Drive when he observed a maroon Ford F-150. The truck was clocked by radar traveling at 52 mph in a posted 35 mph zone on W 13th Street near S Clarice Avenue. Officer Blackwood initiated a traffic stop, and the vehicle pulled over just west of S Greathouse Drive.

Upon making contact with the driver, identified as Chad Anthony Reasor of Atoka, Officer Blackwood immediately noticed Reasor's eyes were red and bloodshot, and detected an odor of alcohol emanating from the vehicle. Reasor's speech was slurred, and he appeared to have difficulty forming basic sentences or fumbling through his console and glovebox for insurance documentation.
