Oklahoma Prepares for Annual Tax-Free Weekend August 1-3

Oklahoma families are looking forward to the annual Sales Tax Holiday, commonly known as Tax-Free Weekend, scheduled for August 1st through August 3rd, 2025. 

This event offers shoppers a temporary reprieve from state and sometimes local sales taxes on certain purchases, primarily aimed at easing the financial burden of back-to-school shopping.

During this period, qualifying items, which generally include most articles of clothing and footwear priced under a specific limit per item, can be purchased without sales tax. Items like accessories, certain sporting goods, and general school supplies usually remain taxable.
