Stringtown Lady Tigers Thankful to Field a Team

“It’s exciting. Having our own team gives us the chance to really build a program and culture that’s all Stringtown. The co-op last year was a great experience and we’re thankful for it, but there’s something special about wearing your school’s name across your chest and representing just your community,” Stringtown Fastpitch Head Coach Jake Dudley said.

This season, Stringtown has 13 players which is enough to field their own team without forming a coop team with an area school. A season ago, the Lady Tigers played in a co-op with Wapanucka due to low numbers at Stringtown. Although they appreciated Wapanucka for allowing them to co-op, the Lady Tigers are thankful to be able to wear their own jerseys this season.

Due to Stringtown not having a softball field, the Lady Tigers will play home games at the Atoka Sports Complex. “It’s huge for us. We’re grateful to Atoka Complex for opening their doors and letting us call it home. The girls love having a place for friends, family, and classmates to come watch without traveling for every single game. It makes a big difference in morale and community support,” Dudley said.
