23 Grams of Meth Found During Traffic Stop

An Atoka Police officer's traffic stop for a defective light early Monday morning resulted in the arrest of a passenger after a search of the vehicle uncovered methamphetamine in an amount consistent with trafficking.

At approximately 3:44 a.m. on August 4, 2025, Master Patrol Officer Peydon Griffith observed a tan Cadillac Deville with an inoperable driver-side tag light and initiated a traffic stop at a Love's convenience store.

Upon making contact with the occupants, Officer Griffith detected a strong odor of marijuana. When asked about the marijuana, the passenger, identified as Jesse John Paul, admitted to having a dispensary baggie, for which he produced a medical marijuana card. The driver was identified as John Paul of Mead, Oklahoma.
