Travelers Bruce and Meagan Bacon visited the 'Dignity: Of Earth & Sky”, a stainless steel 50-foot-tall statue in Chamberlain, South Dakota as they traveled the Native American Scenic Byway. Submitted photo.

Bruce and Megan Bacon were enjoying their travels so much they made another stop as they traveled the Native American Scenic Byway. The couple visited the 'Dignity: Of Earth & Sky', a stainless steel, 50-foot-tall statue located in Chamberlain, South Dakota.

The Statue was designed by sculptor Dale Lamphere to honor the cultures of the Lakota and Dakota people and offers a stunning combination of art and history.

One of the statue's most striking features is her outstretched star quilt-a symbol of respect, honor, and admiration in Native American culture.
