The Oklahoma Tax Commission recently released city sales tax collection figures that primarily represent local tax receipts from June business. The monies they reported for this period represent sales from June 16 to 30 and estimated sales from July 1 to 15.
Statewide, the disbursement of $215,486,166 sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected an increase of $14,960,252 from the $200,525,914 distributed to the cities and towns in August last year. The use tax disbursement to cities and town was $35,209,569 according to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
In county returns, the counties shared in a $37,859,295 sales tax disbursement and a $7,365,988 use tax disbursement. Atoka County saw an increase in both its sales and use tax collections. The county's sales tax disbursement for this period was $1,179,301.99, up from $1,154,642.66 in the same period of 2024. Use tax collections for the county also grew, reaching $158,582.47 compared to $144,242.06 last year.
