Tushka Lady Tigers Claim Championship at Calera Tournament

The Tushka Lady Tigers couldn't have asked for a better opening week as they went 6-0 and ended with a tournament championship.

Although a double by Callie Boren that scored Alyssa Langford in the first inning of the Calera Tournament championship game against Turner on Aug. 15 proved to be enough. The Lady Tigers had two base runners cross the plate as insurance runs in the sixth inning as Boren hit a single that scored Langford and Rilee Lewis hit a single that scored Reegan Reece.

Tushka claimed the championship with a 3-0 win, Brinlee Anderson threw a complete game (6 innings) and she allowed three hits, two base on balls and threw five strikeouts. In addition to Boren's timely hitting, Langford also recorded two hits in the game.
