Atoka Police are investigating the theft of a zero-turn lawnmower after it was reported stolen from a residence on West 13th Street. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
On August 14, 2025, at approximately 4:45 PM, officers were dispatched to the residence of Darryl Shelton, who reported his Spartan zero-turn lawnmower was missing. Shelton stated he had left his home at 10:00 AM that morning, and upon his return at 4:30 PM, the mower was gone from its parking spot on the southwest side of his house.
A neighbor provided a statement to police, reporting that he saw a gray or tan midsize pickup truck pulling a trailer with white wheels traveling on Velma Street between 2:45 PM and 3:10 PM. The witness stated the truck later returned to the residence, and when it left, a lawnmower was loaded on the trailer. The driver was described only as a white man in a ball cap.
