Officer Seizes Suspected Mushrooms, Pills, Vapes in Traffic Stop

A California man was arrested early Thursday morning on charges of driving under the influence of drugs after a routine traffic stop revealed bizarre behavior and a backpack containing multiple suspected controlled substances.

At approximately 12:32 A.M. on August 14, 2025, Patrolman Grady Blackwood of the Atoka Police Department was on routine patrol when he observed a Kia Soul with an inoperable driver's side headlight. He initiated a traffic stop on West Cedar Street.

The driver, identified as Ori Bengal of Brentwood, California, exhibited highly unusual behavior. During the stop, Bengal gave inconsistent answers, claiming he was coming from the Dallas area but was driving south, and spoke of things that 'made no sense,' including stating he was a 'cartoon character' with 'art on the moon.' Officer Blackwood also observed a glass smoking pipe in Bengal’s lap.
