A driver faces multiple misdemeanor charges after an Atoka County Sheriff's Deputy initiated a traffic stop for a seatbelt violation and discovered drugs and drug paraphernalia in her vehicle.
At approximately 7:00 P.M. on August 21, 2025, Deputy J.D. Mixon was on patrol on State Highway 3 near Lane when he observed a black Dodge truck pulling a small utility trailer loaded with junk metal. As the vehicle passed, the deputy saw that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. The vehicle also had a defective taillight and tag light, and the junk metal on the trailer and in the truck bed was not properly secured.
Deputy Mixon initiated a traffic stop, and upon making contact, the driver, identified as Mandi Airington, was asked for her driver's license and proof of insurance. Airington's license was confirmed to be suspended in Oklahoma. Airington was then placed under arrest for driving with a suspended license.
