Diana Lee White, age 69, a lifelong resident of Atoka County, was born on May 17, 1956, in Dallas, TX. Diana passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026 at her home in Lane surrounded by her loved ones. She graduated from Tushka High School in 1974 and later went on to attend SOSU where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1999. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with an emphasis in English. Diana was a High School English teacher at Antlers from 19992003 and Pittsburg Schools from 2005 to 2011. She held a Special Education credential as well and dearly loved her students and fellow faculty members. An excellent grammarian, she had a passion for words and sharing that passion with students. She later held the position of executive administrative assistant at Antlers Hospital and was on the school board for Faith Christian School. A woman of deep faith she was a regular attendee of Victory Life Church in Atoka. She married Chat A White on March 1st, 1974 at the home of her parents, Chester and Doris Bonham in Tushka, OK. Chat and Diana were married for 48 years at the time of Chat's passing on October 4, 2022. Their love was a special one with much joy that endured life’s trials and heartbreaks. Diana had a brilliant literary mind and a gift for writing. She always had a book with her. She had a beautiful singing voice and an eclectic taste in music. Diana loved to visit and could talk to people for hours. She enjoyed people and hearing their story. Such was her love for people that she opened her home to foreign exchange students from Germany, Brazil, and Czech Republic. Her quick wit and distinctive laugh will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

Diana is survived by her daughters, Samantha Watson and husband Richard of Lane, OK, Lindsay Roode and husband Chris of Durant, OK; grandchildren, Mason Watson, McKenzi Watson, Madilyn Watson, Damon Edward Watson, Elijah Roode, Joshua Roode, Rebekah Roode, Ariyah Roode; great grandchildren, Galilaya Watson, Skyla Watson; sisters, Connie Henry, Arlene Smith and husband Jimmy; brother, Brad Bonham; sisters-in-law, JoAnn King, Debra White; brother-in-law, Joe Bob White and wife Shelly; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends. In addition to family she is also survived by her “foreign exchange daughters” Daniela Kaemmerer, Beatriz Corrêa, and Laura Vigliotti.
